Barbara “Babbie” Jaco is Senior Vice President of CAHEC Management, Inc., a North Carolina non-profit corporation headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina. CAHEC, one of the largest nonprofit equity syndicators in the U.S., acquired Boyd Management, Inc., and its property development affiliate WWJ, LLC, in 2020. Prior to the acquisition, these companies enjoyed a collaborative partnership, rehabilitating, and repositioning Rural Development financed apartment communities over 15 years.
As a principal of WWJ, Babbie played a key role in successfully closing eight portfolio transactions totaling $370 million. Currently, these properties exceed owners’ objectives.
Babbie obtained her CPM® in 1993 from the Institute of Real Estate Management and is the firm’s Executive CPM® responsible for its AMO® accreditation. In addition, she holds affordable housing designations HCCP® and CPO®. Babbie is the Broker-in-Charge for their multi-state operation, which includes 380+ affordable housing communities consisting of 16,000+ units.
Over her 40+ year property management career, Babbie has built strong relationships with federal and state housing finance agencies, lenders, developers, and industry leaders and frequently speaks at training conferences.
Babbie serves as President, IREM SC Chapter 72 and is Chair of NAHMA’s Rural Housing Advisory Committee and is Past Chair of IREM Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.
In July 2021, The Journal of Property Management featured Babbie’s article “What’s at Stake”. This was followed with a podcast “Rural Housing with Babbie Jaco”. Kyle Harrelson joined Boyd Management in 2009 as Assistant Controller and was promoted to Controller in 2013. Kyle’s duties as Controller include overseeing the financial statements, appealing property taxes, handling the accounting transition for rehab properties, handling requests from owners, and working with external auditors. Prior to joining Boyd, Kyle was an Audit Manager with CPA firm Deloitte for seven years. Sandi Lee is CAHEC Management Inc.’s newest executive team member and brings 21 years of operational business experience to CMI. Most recently, Sandi was the Director of Revenue Contract Management and Support at the University of South Carolina. Sandi and her team received a Presidential Coin of Excellence for their contribution during the pandemic. Sandi also received her Finance, B.S. from Iowa State University in 2001.

In her role, Erlinda is responsible for developing and implementing HR programs such as compensation and benefits management, occupational health and safety, and performance management. Erlinda offers over 20 years of HR experience serving in the construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries. Her practical knowledge of employment law and policy management has proven to be successful in decreasing risks to organizations. Erlinda’s hands-on approach to coaching and mentoring supervisors in performance management and discipline has helped organizations develop thoughtful and fair leaders. Erlinda has a history of achieving positive results when mediating employee conflicts due to her strong ability to be objective. Her compassion and her genuine love of people allow her to be a consistent advocate for the employees, the company’s greatest asset, while focusing on strategic workplace initiatives.

Promoted to Senior Regional Manager in 2020, Janet’s portfolio currently includes over 4000 units of both CAHEC owned and private third-party properties throughout South Carolina. In addition to obtaining her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Charleson Southern University (Charleston, South Carolina), Janet obtained an associate degree from Anderson University (Anderson, South Carolina). In 2001, Janet earned her Certified Property Manager® (CPM®) through the Institute of Real Estate Management® (IREM). She is a member of the National Association of Realtors and holds a South Carolina Real Estate Sales license.
Janet volunteers as the treasurer for her community’s Homeowners Association (HOA). She also serves on the social committee, helping to plan and organize community events.
